Changing schools is something the 17-year-old Aizawa Yuuichi is accustomed to, due to his parent's profession, and with their recent venture to Africa, he is returning to his aunt's home after seven years. The time that has passed since his last visit has faded his memories of the people he once knew, and the ties that bonded them to him, including his cousin Minase Nayuki. Slowly those people, coincidentally all being girls, find their way back to him. However, time has passed and things have happened in their own lives. He brings the creature home to his wife Ounaa and they decide to keep her and raise her as a princess. She is clearly not of this world. Kaguya grows at an unnatural rate, soon maturing into an uncommonly beautiful young woman. Since Okina has now also found a cache of gold and treasure in the forest, every suitor wants Kaguya. But this is not a fairy tale of courtship and marriage.

As her fledgling business becomes more and more successful, she meets various friends who each teach her about independence, inspiration, and what to do on days when both seem to vanish.
